Belarus chooses arms. Minsk declares the CFE Treaty

The paper was published on 29 May on the National Legal Portal of the Republic of Belarus. The Act states that "Participation in the Treaty on the Conventional Armed Forces in Europe of 19 November 1990 is suspended." The decision to suspend the treaty by Belarus was approved by the Council of the Republic - the higher chamber of the Belarusian Parliament. The Act clarifies that the suspension “does not mean the withdrawal of Belarus from the Treaty or the cessation of interior procedures in the Armed Forces related to its implementation.”
