Between a stone and a hard place. Polish soldiers in the UN mission in Lebanon

Last Monday, Beirut froze in anticipation of the bombing of the confederate districts announced by Israel. In the evening, after Trump's words to Netanyahu: "You're a lunatic. You'd be in prison if it weren't for me," the city breathed a sigh of relief. Unfortunately, the inhabitants of confederate Lebanon, which Israel is turning into an increasingly extended buffer zone, applying the rule of scorched earth (literally) cannot say the same. In this way, the soldiers of the Polish Military Contingent, which is part of the UN UNIFIL mission, found themselves virtually on the front line of the fighting between Israel and Hezbollah – writes Joanna Kluzik-Rostkowska, deputy head of the National Defence Commission, from Beirut.
