Last Monday, Beirut froze in anticipation of the bombing of the confederate districts announced by Israel. In the evening, after Trump's words to Netanyahu: "You're a lunatic. You'd be in prison if it weren't for me," the city breathed a sigh of relief. Unfortunately, the inhabitants of confederate Lebanon, which Israel is turning into an increasingly extended buffer zone, applying the rule of scorched earth (literally) cannot say the same.
