13.12.2024 In the fields between the village of Shevchenko and Pieszczynoje, a powerful Ukrainian counterattack occurred.
General Alexander Łucenko was dismissed from his post as commander of the operational-tactic group "Donieck" – the command was personally taken over by General Alexander Syrski. Battalions from 3 recently formed Mechanized Brigades (152, 155 Anna Kiev, 157) as well as the full 37th Marine Brigade and the elite 425th assault battalion “Skała”.
Ukrainians not only sought to close the gap struck on the confederate Pokrovsk front by the Russian 90 Guards Vitebsko Nowgorodzka Armoured Division, but besides to conduct a counterattack on Shevchenko settlement in order to displace Russian units from there and recover the lithium deposit.
The Russian battalions of the 15th Independent defender of the Alexandria Armed firearm Brigade stood in their way. The village went from hands to cancer. The soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine even managed to enter Shevchenko, but a bold counterattack of Russian guards from the 15th Mechanized firearm Brigade were thrown out of there.
In the afternoon there was a Russian counterattack, supported by the air force, which reached the outskirts of the village of Pieszczyny. Moreover, according to Ukrainian intelligence data, all day long Russian units concentrated their forces in the village. Shevchenko, which, according to Ukrainians, proves Russian preparations for defence and the prevention of the failure of Shevchenko.
The Ukrainian side informs that the Russian military's defence success was possible thanks to the support of aviation, artillery and drones, which worked very closely with the defending Russian guards. This should not be surprising, since the 15th Self-Governance Armed firearm Brigade, decorated with the Suvorov Order, was a unit of “mirrators”, or troops for peacekeeping missions, completely professional. It is by all means an elite unit of the Russian army and it is no wonder that it was directed by General Andrei Mordwiczew (the commander of the Russian Center Group) to this crucial section of the front.
The conflict is underway, Ukrainians equipped with American vehicles (bwp M2A2 Braldey ODS) – 225 Assault Battalion “The Rock” storm Russian positions. For combat, the Syrian general threw the recently formed and equipped battalions of the 155th Mechanized Brigade “Anna Kiev” and 38th Marine Brigade. Since morning 14.12.2024 Ukrainians have been attacking positions heroicly defending themselves around the village of Shevchenko Guardsmen from the Samar Oblast. So far... unsuccessfully.
