Balloon or drone? What did the Chinese actually send over the United States?

According to most news agencies, the Americans shot down a “spy balloon” over the United States. The problem is that this aerial object during the flight was able to change its way and “stop” (and in fact slow down) over circumstantial objects. And this is not how typical balloons behave, but drones.
