For the 23rd time, Members were incapable to establish a fresh parliament on 29 April, and the post-election political stalemate in the country continues, more than 3 months after voters voted on on 9 February.
By insisting on the nomination of her candidate Albulena Haxhiu for the post of marshal, the winning party, Vetevendosje, failed to get a minimum vote of support for her nomination.
Kurti's organization won 48 tickets in the February elections. Although it has the support of any members of the number of Kosovo – but the Serbian community – it is inactive not adequate to get 61 votes of support for the election of the marshal and the creation of the government.
Haxhiu, who was Minister of Justice and a longtime activist in Kurti Vetevendosje (VV) party, is seen by opposition parties as a dividing choice. Her repeated failures in getting the required votes in a 120-member assembly besides raised questions about Kurti's ability to form a ruling coalition.
Political parties, which had previously been in opposition, specified as the Democratic organization of Kosovo (PDK) and the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK), called on Albin Kurti to nominate a more acceptable talker candidate, but this 1 refused.
"The organization crisis that followed the February 9, 2025 elections exceeded all the limits and harmed not only the Assembly, but besides the functioning of the full democratic and organization strategy of the country," commented any of theseveral twelve civilian society organisations.
