Recently pardoned by president Andrzej Duda Bąkiewicz, he erstwhile led a construction company. In 2011, his business went bankrupt, and he remained with nearly 7 million debt. Then he was formally bankrupt, having previously divorced his wife. There are suspicions that the divorce was fictional and was only intended to facilitate Bąkiewicz's bankruptcy. A pardon from Duda

– I wouldn't do this community service. due to the fact that I believe that this conviction is unjust – said Bąkiewicz at Mazurek.
