Over 6.3 1000 subjects and listeners of civilian studies began studying at the Academy of Land Forces in Wrocław. The university has been gaining interest for respective years. “This is surely due to the fact that the conditions of service in the Polish Army are clearly improving, for many they are truly tempting,” noted Dr. Norbert Świętochowski, prof. of AWL.

The solemn introduction of the university's banner by the flag rank and singing of the national anthem began with the inauguration of the academic year at the Academy of the Land Army in Wrocław with the participation of invited guests – including Colonel Konrad Kłos, typical of the president of the Republic of Poland, and Brig-Gen Jarosław Stróżyk, Head of the Military Counterintelligence Service. We're at a beautiful peculiar time. We see the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, we see intensive hybrid activity that besides affects our country and NATO countries. Therefore, looking at all that is happening, I am truly arrogant of you, of the people who come to the Academy of the Land Army full aware that you may be the generation who will fight directly; that you will be the ones leading the fight of your subordinates, but in order not to do so, you must have the ability to deter. And we want you here, at the Academy of Land Forces, to accomplish this ability – he turned to the university's assembled Rector, General of Arms in St.
Academy besieged
The Academy of Land Forces in the beginning of the academic year adopted a evidence number of more than 1.1 1000 subjects (of which 958 in strictly military directions – command, logistics, computer discipline and safety engineering – and 200 in military-medical direction at the Medical University of Łódź). Additionally, 435 students of the first year of civilian studies joined the study. – This is simply a very large number of students. A year ago, it was a small smaller, but in general, for respective years we have observed a advanced interest in our university. This is surely due to the fact that the conditions of service in the Polish Army are clearly improving, for many they are truly tempting – decent salaries, employment certainty. I besides believe that the AWL's offer is gradually becoming better and gives emergence to an expanding interest in both military and civilian directions,' emphasizes Colonel Dr. Norbert Świętochowski, Vice president for the Teaching Academy of Land Forces. As he adds, the university enters a fresh academic year with many changes to make the AWL offer even more attractive. First of all, in the civilian training department, a fresh direction took place, responding to the requirements of modern times and challenges faced by Poland – the safety of the state infrastructure. On the another hand, in the military division crucial changes included the Faculty of Command, so far being a strictly educational unit, educating the future officers of the Polish Army. From now on, it will besides be a investigation department.

– We have quite a few experience with the war in Ukraine, we effort to exploit these experiences. Therefore, we see the request to make the technological possible of the faculty. Since this year, investigation teams have been established at the university to gather experience – specified as in the war with drones or fresh assault tactics. We focus on dynamic modifications of the curriculum, even during the academic year, in order to adapt flexibly to the requirements of the modern battlefield and the armed forces," noted Świętochowski.
What awaits students?
Early students of the Academy of Land Forces in the military direction receive PLN 6,300 gross wage. They can besides number on contact with modern military technology, specified as Jasmin's tactical simulator, to participate in attractive global exchanges and to survey abroad – also, thanks to cooperation with Americans, at West Point military college there. Although decent salaries and unchangeable employment in the military tempt, among freshly baked students there are no shortages of people who, erstwhile betting on the military, were not guided solely by pragmatic issues. Many, like Frais-Ligaj, who, after completing his five-year civilian studies, decided to service in the military, treat her as a calling. – I am a postgraduate of 2 majors in English philology, carried out at the Catholic University of Lublin, but the plan to join the army has been with me since I can remember. I've always been fascinated by history, especially military history. The AWL was an apparent choice, due to the fact that the intent in life, namely to join the land troops, was born with my passion for past – admits the subject.

The first year students gathered at the inauguration ceremony made a solemn vow. Earlier, for a period they had their own taste of the natural soldier's life, taking part in a unitary training on the ground in Żagań and Rakow close Wrocław.
It was a time that allowed candidates to verify their plans. Those who felt they couldn't do it, or it's not what they expected, could give up.
The subjects during the first academic year carry out voluntary primary military service, which means that if they resign at that time, they have no consequences. Only in the second year, at the time of signing another contract with the university, the listener becomes a professional soldier during training. From that point on, a possible resignation from further education requires the reimbursement of the university's survey costs.
