The aircraft with almost 200 people on board crashed on Wednesday at the airport in Kraków's Balices after granting the alarm code 7700. Below we explain precisely what this means.


Ryanair aircraft with 192 people on board failed to land on Wednesday (12 November) at the airport in Kraków Bali. The event took place just before 15 o'clock, as informed by Kraków112 services – Kraków Rescue in Obietywo and FlightRadar24.

During the flight from Jordan to Krakow there was a tire problem, which was reported as an emergency code 7700.

– The crew of the aircraft reported a suspected broken tire, but fortunately it turned out that nothing like this had happened. The plane landed normally, without any problems. The event did not disturb the operation of the airport – Monika Chylaszek, a press spokesperson for Kraków Airport, gave the "Polish Journal". Nobody got hurt.

Code 7700, given by the aircraft during the flight to Krakow, is simply a universal emergency signal in aviation. Means that the device is in a safety situation and requires an urgent consequence from the airport services.

The code does not specify the origin of the failure. This information is provided by the crew in radio communication. In this case, it afraid a damaged tyre which forced the emergency landing of Boeing on Kraków's Balices.
