An effort by the Australian anti-aircraft destroyer Hobart HMAS ‘Brisbane’ (DDG-41) was identified in Australia as a circumstantial ‘game-changer’. The Australian armed forces have thus been given the chance to precisely attack land targets by up to 2,000 km, so they are now in possession of an effective deterrence system. This is in line with the assumptions of the Australian National Defence Strategy, which assumes an increase in the capacity of the Australian armed forces for long-range strikes.
