Australia and France agree to common access to military bases in the Pacific.

Japan's Nikkei Asia paper reported that Australia and France will step up defence cooperation by allowing their troops access to military bases as part of a fresh blueprint for bilateral relations, the 2 countries said, in the face of China's increasing influence in the Pacific region.
