According to the Polish ambassador's report, he was attacked on the fresh York Prospekt – 1 of the main historical streets of Sankt-Petersburg. Aggressors were a group of alleged activists who first called the diplomat names and then tried to physically attack him. The aggression was thwarted by safety personnel.
Krzysztof Krajewski pointed out that there was no chance – the attack was planned, as evidenced by the presence of banners and coordination of the group, which shouted anti-Polish and anti-Ukrainian slogans. In connection with the incident, he directed a protest note to the Russian authorities.
