"Together for a safe Europe". The Central and east European safety Forum was held at the University of Warsaw under this slogan. On 16 and 17 June, European and American experts in geopolitics, economy and cybersecurity debated on the campus of the main colleges. The forum was opened by the Rector of the University of Warsaw Prof. Alojzy Z. Nowak and Chancellor Robert Grey.
More than 500 representatives of governments, global organisations, academia and the private sector from Europe and the USA took part in a two-day conference organized by the Institute of east Studies together with the Ministry of Defence and the University of Warsaw.
The conference was opened by prof. Alojzy Z. Nowak, Rector of the University of Warsaw and Robert Grey, Chancellor of the University of Warsaw.
– I am glad that the University of Warsaw is simply a place of dialogue. We must talk and usage cognition and skills not only from the University of Warsaw, but besides from another Polish universities. I believe that we will be able to offer a lot – in the area of artificial intelligence, modern technologies, medicine and wellness care. I am convinced that the discussion we are conducting will besides have a beneficial impact on the arms industry, and thus the arms of the Polish army and the safety of the Republic," said Prof. Alojzy Z. Nowak, Rector of the University of Warsaw, beginning the forum.
"The safety of Central and east Europe is 1 of the most crucial challenges today. We are glad that the University of Warsaw has become a space for dialog between experts, representatives of government, business and the planet of science. Working together beyond divisions, we can build a lasting architecture of security, peace and stableness in our region," said Robert Grey, Chancellor of the University of Warsaw, at the start of the event.
The Forum was held on 16 and 17 June in the Old Library on the Warsaw University Main Campus. The programme of the conference was divided into 3 thematic paths: war and society; fresh technologies and supply chains, geopolitics and the economy.
The participants of more than 30 discussion panels, peculiar talks and plenary sessions discussed issues of military security, energy, economical and cybersecurity, as well as social resilience.
– In the face of complex challenges, we must jointly look for answers to fundamental questions: how to strengthen the resilience of our countries and societies, how to build sustainable military, economic, technological and information safety systems, and how to work together across sectors and countries, Chancellor Grey concluded.
The event was held by Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defence, and Piotr Zgorzelski, Deputy Marshal of the Polish Sejm.
