The technological ellipse of Education and Promotion safety and the technological ellipse of Media and Communication of the Academy of Land Forces invited military and civilian students to debate and training workshops in the framework of the Second technological Conference "Interdisciplinaryness of safety explanation - Practice – Education this time on "The function of the European Union and NATO in the global safety system".
This task was organised jointly with the technological circles of the Military Colleges specified as:
- AWL technological Communication and Electrical
- Marine Safety discipline ellipse AMW
- WAT National safety discipline Club
and technological circles of the civilian Universities specified as:
- global safety technological ellipse "Save The World" of the WSB Academy in Dąbrowa Górnicza
- safe Diversitas Collegium Vitelona in Legnica.
The task was covered by the media patronage of the Armed Poland.
The Student Conference, on 29 October 2024 at the Mountain Training Centre "High Stone" in Szklarska Poręba, opened the Vice president for Student Affairs of the Col. Piotr Szczepański and Deputy manager of the Operations Centre of the Minister of National Defence Mrs. Dominika Nawrocka. The program and the course of the conference was presented by the president of the technological Committee – Colonel Barbara Kaczmarczyk, Prof. AWL.
The aim of the event was to exchange views of academics, national and global safety actors and students of the Military and civilian Universities on the function of NATO and the EU in the global safety system, as well as the anticipation of applying fresh technologies in the implementation of tasks.
During the conference, students had the chance to discuss with experts from the NATO discipline and Technology Organization in Paris, the Centre for Preparation for abroad Missions in Kielce, the Naval Academy, the Academy of War Art, the Military method Academy and the Academy of Land Forces.
The conference was theoretical and practical. The theoretical part included student speeches, debate and discussion. The content presented was assessed by the Competition Commissions, which assessed in 2 categories: for the best performance and for the best poster.
In the category for the best speech, Paweł Hamerliński won with the subject “The importance of information in the process of evacuation of flood areas on the example of Wrocław Water Node” from the global School of Logistics and Transport in Wrocław. The award was awarded to Bartosz Szymanski with the subject "EU strategical Concept" from the WAT National safety technological Circle.
In the category for the best posters, the winners were: Cpr. pchor. Julia Stolarczyk and Sr. pchor. Filip Wyszyński with the subject of Civil-military cooperation from the technological ellipse of Education and Promotion of safety AWL. The award was received:
- Sergeant Colonel Monika Szczepaniuk, Zuzanna Szymanska, Jakub Walczak of the National safety technological ellipse WAT
- Veronica Drążek, Claudia Sikora, Grzegorz Koczubaj from the ellipse safe Diversitas Collegium Witellona
The second day of the conference was practical, which was started by familiarising the participants of the conference with the mountain area. Further after the crisis, students from civilian and military universities took part in a gathering of the municipal crisis management squad to address the situation related to illegal migration, and then participated in training workshops on first aid in emergency situations in the mountains and the usage of drones during search and rescue operations. The last component was the verification of acquired skills during a directed crisis situation that could happen in the mountains.
Field activities were secured by the Górskie Action Department and the AWL Irregular Activities Section.
