Weapons demonstrations, simulations utilizing virtual reality, conversations with lecturers and students... This is how the next Friday is going to be, the Open Day at the Academy of War Art. The university that educates security, management and cyberspace specialists will present a scope of studies, including fresh courses specified as civilian protection and civilian defence.

The Open Day in AszWoj – as it convinces – will be more than just a presentation of a rich educational offer and recruitment rules. Candidates will be able to talk to lecturers, students and field ambassadors. Information centres on student life, Erasmus+ and another scholarships will besides be available. And there will be many stands of technological circles, student organizations and Academic Legion.
Academy of Science
The open day will begin at 10:00 in the ASZWOJ Club at 56 Red Beretów Street in Rembertów. In the programme, among others: drone shows, equipment and weapons, VR-based activities, i.e. virtual reality, terrorist threat analysis and crime. You can besides watch presentation of the Jasmin system and another modern safety technologies, and even simulations of court trials prepared by the Faculty of Law and Administration.
At the university, there will be a stand stylized for the guerrilla camp, presentations of military collections and an Oxford debate devoted to alternate history. There will be thematic competitions and tour of the campus, including the library and the Academic Sports Centre. The mandatory point will be a conventional military treat, or pea.
From cybersecurity to logistics
The strength of the Academy of War Art is simply a wide teaching offer covering 4 faculties and 2 institutes, 16 courses of survey and more than 40 specialities of the first degree and about 30 specialities of the second degree. The university besides offers postgraduate studies, there is besides a choice here. And most importantly, ASzwa educates in key areas for the functioning of the state: security, law, administration, management, logistics and modern technologies.

The Academy besides develops directions responding to the challenges of modern times, where safety is increasingly transferred to the digital, information and technology sphere. Information safety and cybersecurity are studies for people who realize that the current risks not only concern physical infrastructure, but besides various types of data, systems and resilience of institutions in cyberspace.
CBRN safety engineering, preparing specialists to respond to chemical, biological, radiological and atomic threats, besides deserves peculiar attention. This is simply a direction that responds to the real needs of the world, in which the importance of method and operational expertise grows.
In consequence to modern threats
The education pathways associated with state resilience and crisis consequence are becoming increasingly important. Among them a fresh direction – Civil protection and defence, carried out at the Military Department. It was created in cooperation with the Police Academy in Szczytno and the Fire Academy in Warsaw.
A unique place in the teaching offer of AszWoj occupies polemology, i.e. the discipline of wars and armed conflicts. It is an interdisciplinary area that explores the sources of conflict, their course and political, social and strategical consequences. The polemic studies show that although the mechanisms of conflicts stay mostly unchanged, the means of conducting conflicts change. Technological improvement affects the nature of armed actions, the degree of harm and the number of victims. Modern conflicts are not only military clashes, but besides activities in the information and intellectual sphere. More and more people are talking about the alleged cognitive war – conducted in the space of social awareness, where the key influence on attitudes, emotions and beliefs is crucial.
