[Asia approaching] India and the Manipur riots. The Tragic Effects of Nationalism

The Manipur riots may have destructive consequences for India's territorial unity. The tragic balance is 150 deaths, hundreds of raped women, thousands of wounded, respective tens of thousands of people deprived of homes and forced by force to migrate. Thousands of homes as well as hundreds of places of worship have been devastated or burned to the ground. This is the consequence of a matrimony of religion and power.
