The art of applause will not feed!
Senator Szejnfeld at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw
Senator Adam Szejnfeld met in ASP in Warsaw with prof. Rafał Rychter, Dean of the Sculpture Department of the Academy of Fine Arts. The conversation was devoted to the problems and needs of the Sculpture Department.
- discipline and peculiar art, most frequently in past have lost the race for budget finance with social, economical or investment needs of the state. This is simply a very serious flaw in the training of subsequent generations of Polish artists said Senator Szejnfeld in the interview.
Dean Rychter agreed with him, pointing out that this is the case in his department, even though the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts has for years been at the forefront of shaping the top artists of the young generation, specified as Althamer, Kozira, Żmijewski, Star, Górnicki, Karkoszka... and many others.
The Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw is the oldest artistic university in Poland. The year 1904 is officially considered the date that gives emergence to the university. In the structure of the then Warsaw School of Fine Arts, Sculpture, inactive as a Cathedral, was already an crucial part of it. She was entrusted with the outstanding artist Dunikowski, she became a surviving and modern unit comparatively quickly. After planet War II, it already functions as a separate department.
The Department of Warsaw Sculpture ASP can boast its many years of tradition and experience, and has outstanding teaching and artistic achievements. His graduates are many excellent artists, people who entered the past of our culture and make it today. The staff of professors are always recognized creators.
The specificity of the Faculty is the continuation and improvement of artistic and educational values developed from the reactivation of the ASP after planet War II to modern times. The current pedagogues are pupils of professors, artists who created the faculty structure and brought in their own first teaching concepts. Since the creation of 3 equivalent master studios: Marian Wnuk, Franciszek Strynkiewicz and Jerzy Jarnuszkiewicz, supplemented by the plan studios of Oskar Hansen and the medallings of Józef Aumiller, the developmental continuity, characterized by reliable workshops and openness to innovations resulting from changes in art. Thanks to their organizational and educational activities, the Department of Sculpture became 1 of the most crucial in the University scale, and among the academic teachers were professors: Ludwik Nitschowa, Zofia Demkowska, Gustaw Zemła, Jan Kucz, Janusz Pastwo, Grzegorz Kowalski, Stanisław Słonin, Tadeusz Łódana, Adam Roman, Stanisław Kulon, Piotr Gawron, Bogdan Chmielewski, Zofia Glazer, Wanda Pawlikowska-Winnicka, Wanda Golakowska, Bogusław Szwacz. This master class and didactics are being continued by professors: Adam Myjak, Hanna Jelonek, Maciej Aleksandrowicz, Mariusz Woszczyński and independent academics: Małgorzata Dmitruk, Małgorzata Gurowska, Stanisław Brach, Grzegorz Stara, Jakub Łęcki, Roman Pietrzak, Rafał Rychter, Romuald Woźniak, Grzegorz Witek.
The faculty's educational and technological activities are very dynamic, successful students and its lecturers. The participation of professors and representatives of the Department of Sculpture in planet artistic events, in consultative bodies, global artistic organizations is impressive. This is evidenced by many prestigious planet awards and distinctions.
- I'm sorry. The Department of Sculpture is presently located in 3 places in Warsaw (Krakowskie Przedmieście, Kościuszkowskie Coast, Pocztajna). It has professional, well-equipped studios, mostly gathering the expectations of students and faculty staff. After years of renovations, removals and annoying make-up, we slow filled this gap. However, it is simply a process that seems "continuous" without a time limit. The backing of the education from the general budget of the University in a time of economical problems and crises has unfortunately become insufficient. The sculpture belongs to the most costly areas of art. Its “garage” is simply a basic presumption and requirement, but besides our “to be or not to be.” It always remains a immense challenge said the Dean of the Department in an interview with Senator Szejnfeld.
- I'm sorry. Yes, the art of love or applause of its audience cannot live The senator was kidding. In addition to delight, circumstantial money is needed, especially for education and training of young people. This problem will should be solved. said Senator Adam Szejnfeld.
