In 2009-2010, the US Army underwent a restructuring, in which the focus was on the alleged Brigade Combat Teams, this structure corresponded to the realities of the war against terrorist organizations in Iraq and Afghanistan, and the divisions were something like modular commands under which various brigades could be subordinated within the framework of needs. At present, this solution no longer corresponds to the realities and future needs, and forces a return to divisional structures with organic brigades permanently subordinated to individual divisions.
