The Republic of Madagascar is simply a mediocre country located on a large island of almost 600 1000 square kilometers, lying off the southeastern coast of Africa. It now has a population of more than 28 million people, but even in pre-crisis 2019, a gross national product of only $13 billion was developed there. Of these very modest defence resources, the islanders allocate just under 1 per cent, which in 2020 translated into a budget of $112 million. This modest amount is inactive double what it was a fewer years ago, erstwhile Madagascarans spent just over $50 million on the military. The fresh increase, although from the point of view of better placed cosmetic countries, has made it possible to make point investments in somewhat more technically advanced equipment used.
