Are the police ready for war? [Video]

During a regular armed conflict, police specialists fight side by side with soldiers. This shows the experience of the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Are Polish counter-terrorists prepared for the tasks of their Ukrainian colleagues today? As he says in an interview with InfoSecurity24.pl – during the 5th edition of Defence24 Day, European Defence Days – Dr. Michał Stępiński, erstwhile manager of the Office of Anti-Terrorist Operations of the KGB, systemic changes are needed, due to the fact that while the regulations supply for the usage of troops for police tasks, the police's action in a different form than the statutoryly provided is completely unstandardized. The erstwhile BOA chief adds, however, that although the police are not military, training and preparation "is not so different that it cannot be utilized complementaryly". Dr. Stępiński emphasizes that "a strategy should be created that will let to realise the possible of all resources of our state to defend, and thus besides the possible of non-military units", and it is not only police specialists. However, he adds, "a lot of work ahead of us, so that this military and non-military strategy can work the fact smoothly in conditions of armed threat.".
