Archaeologists conducting investigation in Iznik, ancient Nice, in northwestern Turkey, have discovered the remains of a tiny church that they believe was the site of the First Council of Nicaea in 325 AD. Fragments of the walls, floors and base of the column hidden under the later basilica on Lake İznik were uncovered.
