The next year, MON plans to increase the number of seats for professional soldiers and civilians seeking to gain an officer's degree. 871 people will be able to participate in trainings conducted, among others, in the Academys of Land Forces in Wrocław or the Navy in Gdynia. The courses will include logistics, communications and medical specialties.

Officer courses next door, for example, military studies are 1 of the ways to gain the rank of lieutenant. Both civilians and professional soldiers can participate in these activities: sub-commissioners and professional ranks. Depending on the needs of the Polish Army for certain specialists, the Ministry of Defence determines each year how many people and in which areas this form of training will be possible. According to the last decision of the ministry for next year's officer courses in 4 military academy: Technical in Warsaw, Land troops in Wrocław, Aeroplane in Dęblin and Navy 871 people will be admitted to Gdynia. This last college will evidence the biggest growth in seats.

– This year we had 70 seats, next year we will prepare 155 seats. The limit will increase more than twice,” says Dr. Radosław Maslak, AMW's press spokesman. It besides ensures that in all respect the university is ready to accept more than usual candidates for officers. – We have an excellent teaching base, 1 of the largest libraries in Pomerania and a university-run academic sports centre. In January, we open a fresh 12-story dormitory, which besides includes lecture rooms and a cafeteria. So we successfully make the conditions and opportunities for curious people to study, train and improve their qualifications, explains the AMW spokesperson. The another academies would adopt: WAT – 247 (this year was 157), AWL – 378 (was 548) and LAW – 91 (was 87).

From Private to Officer

Most of the places, due to the fact that over 660, will be waiting for enlisted officers and private professionals. In this way MON wants to usage the experience of professional soldiers who will be able to strengthen the command structures of the Polish Army in key specializations after the completed course and promotion to the officer. For example, 576 non-commissioned officers will be trained on six-month courses in all 4 military academies. In the WAT candidates will be waiting 209 seats in specializations: operation of communication systems (100 seats), operation of IT systems (34), general logistics (45) and anti-aircraft rocket kits (30). In Gdynia AMW, future personnel (20 seats) will be trained, and in the Oaklin Orląt School candidates for specialists: air traffic (6), engineering and aviation services (18), anti-aircraft rocket kits (20), and radio technicians (11) and navigators (4). Most of the officers, as many as 288, will accept the Wroclaw AWL. Volunteers will have 22 specialities to choose from, including rocket and artillery (58), armored-mechanized (48), general designation (17), communications systems (26) and electronic detection and interference (19). The academy will besides train future logistics (13), bomb squad (16) and geographers (4).

As in the past years, the officers will besides be able to take a three-month course, addressed to people with a strict degree, including civilians. So far it has been organized by the Wrocław AWL, next year it will be held in the Gdynia academy. It's a full fresh beginning for us. Although we have been organizing officer courses for years, we will now focus on training, which aims to get circumstantial specialists for the army, in this case, for example doctors or musicians. There will be a full of 45 seats on the course – says Dr. Radosław Maslak. In Gdynia, therefore, candidates for military training will be: doctors (8), dentists (12), paramedics (14), pharmacists (3), veterinarians (1), nurses (4), physicists (1), and orchestra and phase musicians (2)

For Privates wishing to power ranks of the officer corps, the offer of 12-month courses will have 3 academies. That's 80 seats in total. 63 candidates will be admitted to the AWL, who will be trained in 7 specialities, including rocket and artillery (10), electronic designation and interference (10), anti-aircraft artillery (10), armoured-mechanized (12), communications systems operation (5), general diagnosis (10) and sapper (6). In Dęblin, 12 accepted for the private course will be trained in the specialization of anti-aircraft rocket kits, and 5 seats in the logistics group will be offered to the soldiers of the youngest corps of the Naval Academy in Gdynia.

Offer for civilian persons

MON of fresh officers besides wants to win out of civilians. However, it is about people with military-related directional education and skills (e.g. studies in fields specified as computer science, logistics, electronics and medical science). More than 170 seats will be waiting at military academy.

At 12-month courses, 55 volunteers will be trained in AMW (10 places – a general logistic speciality, 30 – staff, 15 – military administration), and 27 more will be trained at AWL (including 12 – legal service, 10 – light infantry, 5 – the operation of communication systems). The Dęblin Academy will receive 10 people each for courses in engineering and aerospace and radiotechnical specialties. In turn WAT will prepare 18 seats: 10 people will be trained in the operation of communication systems, remaining in the meteorological group.

Shorter, for 3 months, the training will be held at WAT (10 seats) and AWL (19 seats). This first facility will train future specialists in the field of IT and cybersecurity operations, while in Wrocław the course will be passed by candidates to future military prosecutors, vets and pharmacists.

For the second time they will be organized courses for national defence department staff. It's an effect. MON decision of 2023 on fresh professional improvement opportunities for civilians working in the military. They will be able to undergo training in 2 universities: WAT (10 seats, specialities: IT systems operation and cybersecurity) and AWM (11 seats, specialties: veterinary, psychological).

Depending on the university, the kind of course and the individual who applies for it, there are different time limits for filing documents. For example, in the case of civilians applying for a 12-month course in LAW, the time is 14 June 2025 and for a three-month course organized in AMW – 29 January 2025. Petty Officers applying for a three-month training at the academy in Gdynia may file papers until February 10, 2025, and those who want to participate in a six-year training at the WAT until September 13, 2025. Privates have until 23 May (AMW), 7 June (AWL) and 4 July 2025 (LAW).
