Appeal for Law and Freedom

Polish organizations, Polish activists and Poles surviving in Australia are protesting against the illegal actions of the recently established government ravaging public media. The usage of force in the course of these actions raises our highest outrage. Many of us inactive remember the death of the tragic days after the martial law. Aborted broadcast of programs, police in the corridors of Polish Television, strong people entering cabinets, attacking secretaries and MPs – these are images resembling the worst times of our history.
Even the most critical assessment of the activities of the public media so far does not authorize the violation of law and the usage of force in achieving its objectives. The proposed repair of public media must not take place without the applicable legal order. The laws cannot be amended by resolutions and decisions of ministers.

What the “coalition of 13 December” offered to Poles, after a brutal takeover of the media, is simply a violation of Poles' right to freedom. The impact of these actions will affect the citizens' active and morale of the nation for many years.
The attack on freedom of speech takes place in favour of the approval of the European Union for the totalitarian actions of the ruling coalition in Poland. specified consent to totalitarian actions in a associate State raises the question of the legitimacy of the European Union.
The attack on the media is only the beginning of the fight against Poles. We already know present that the recently established government has enacted laws on self-determination of the nation for the benefit of Union officials and their powers. He besides introduced Moscow vassals to the Military Counterintelligence Service, which undoubtedly threatens the safety of Poland.

We ask the Rodaks to express their opposition to this situation and to fight to reconstruct the essential democratic media and legal governance.

Let no 1 who violates constitutional order present feel unpunished!
