Strengthening the mediate East conflict
A year after the Hamas attack on Israel, which took place on October 7, 2023, in which about 1,200 people died and 250 were kidnapped, the situation in the region remains tense. As a consequence of the ongoing war, according to wellness ministry estimates, over 41,000 people died in Palestine.
After a long-standing war run in the Gaza Strip, the fighting moved to Lebanon, where Hezbollah, supported by Iran, led shelling towards Israel, forcing border residents to flee. Israel responded with intense attacks on Hezbollah's positions, resulting in over 1,000 casualties and displacement of about a million people northward.
Israel's attack on Hezbollah and the elimination of its leader, Hasan Nasrallah, led to Iran's unseen air attack on Israel, which increases the hazard of expanding the armed conflict in the mediate East region.
Communication from the Head of the MFA
If individual has not yet listened to the consular warnings of the MFA I appeal: leave Iran immediately – the head of the Ministry of abroad Affairs informed on his social media.
Source: XSikorski posted a link to the MFA website “Poland abroad” which contains information on travel conditions to Iran. The MFA recalls the highest level of informing in force, advising against any travel to that country and recommending Polish citizens residing in Iran to leave immediately.
The MFA website contains information for Poles in Iran, who urge them to registry in Odysseus ruthlessly and to keep track of the news on the websites of the MFA and Polish abroad institutions, as well as on the profile of “Poland abroad” on X.
It has been stressed that the safety situation in Iran is dynamic, so before the journey:
- prepare and carry individual papers and household members,
- provide cash,
- collect food, including water and food, due to possible delays,
- charge your telephone and power banks,
- save the most crucial contacts, including emergency numbers and contact details of the facility, both on the telephone and on the card,
- when travelling in your own car, refuel it full and replenish fuel supplies as far as possible.
