Anti-Semitic incidents. Let us remember to remember

“What is it?” the Bear asked me, showing me a large inscription on the building wall. I let my eyes down. I was ashamed erstwhile I saw, “Jews to gas...”. The worst part was that I've been through this horrible conviction many times with indifference... Why?

On November 18, 2015, Wrocław entrepreneur Piotr Rybak burned a puppet symbolizing a hebrew on the market. The last days brought another shameful feat of “Polish patriots”. Grzegorz Braun in the Sejm put out, utilizing a powder fire extinguisher, candles lit for Hanukkah. His example in Wrocław was followed by a group of masked teenagers who destroyed the Khanuk candlestick in the city centre and burned the flag of Israel. This time the police were not idle and detained minors who would stand trial.

In 2010, I reached for Willy Cohn's book, a historian, a judaic Wroc3awian, actually a breslauczyk, “No law – nowhere”. A terrifying image of a city ruled by fascists, crossed off by the hand of 1 who loved this city and could not leave it. His description of the burning synagogue, smoking debris on a crystal night, can overwhelm. The description of the raging Nazi militias is filled with fear. Willy Cohn, his wife and 2 small girls, like thousands of Wrocław Jews, were transported to Kowna and murdered there by the Nazis. Why?

There were besides many anti-Semitic incidents and compromising tragedies in Poland. Why don't so many know it, don't remember it, or possibly don't want to remember it? Did Poles truly suck anti-Semitism with mother's milk? I don't believe it! And yet so much evil and foolishness, heartlessness, has been happening in our country, and in fresh years behind the silent approval of the rulers. Why?
