Anti-ballistic missiles for Japan

The State Department authorized the sale of SM-6 missiles utilized by units of the nipponese Navy equipped with the Aegis anti-ballistic rocket system. They are intended to give the maritime component of the anti-missile shield greater flexibility to combat Chinese and Korean ballistic missiles. The value of the deliveries was estimated at $450 million.
