On 6 December 2023, the Organisation for Armament Cooperation (OCCAR) signed an agreement with a consortium of French companies — Arquus and Nexter (now KNDS France) for the improvement of the VBAE (Véhicule Blindé d'Aide à l'Engagement — French Armoured Action Support Vehicle) vehicles designed to win the VBL Panhards (Véhicule Blindé Léger — French light armored vehicle) relationship.
