They are prepared to carry out humanitarian, preventive and stabilisation missions within a radius of 6,000 kilometres from Brussels, Europe and northern Africa. As of 1 July, the Visegrad Combat Group of the European Union begins its yearly duty. Its main force is again the soldiers of the 6th Airborne Brigade.

Today's Visegrad Combat Group of the EU has any 2,300 soldiers, most of whom are Poles; after respective twelve soldiers the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary besides deployed. The GBU maneuvering battalion is re-established by soldiers of the 18th Bielsko Airborne Battalion, but forces for the combat group are besides delegated by Command 6 BPD and 6th Command Battalion. The European Union's combat groups are global tactical unions established in 2004. They may participate in stabilisation, prevention and humanitarian missions within a radius of 6,000 km from Brussels. According to the presumption of the GB, they must be ready to act within 15 days of the political decision to usage them. The missions to which they were intended last from 30 to 120 days. After that date, the group should be replaced by forces under the UN flag.
