On Wednesday evening, Andrzej Duda was a guest of Channel Zero. During the program, the audience besides had an chance to ask questions. 1 of them referred to the case of pardon of Mariusz Kamiński and Maciej Wąsik from PiS. However, he previously mentioned a hard situation that encountered him during the coronavirus pandemic.
— You lied about the covid due to the fact that you said you helped entrepreneurs — started the viewer. He later revealed that during the pandemic his company collapsed, and he received only PLN 5,000 from the state. You lied about that. During this bankruptcy, I was charged with fraud by another clients due to the fact that my company went bankrupt. I was sentenced to 12 months in prison,” he continued.
The viewer then referred to the case of the pardon of Mariusz Kamiński and Maciej Wąsik by president Duda. - I know I'm not your friend, and you pardon your colleagues. But, are you going to flip a coin now? If the heads fall out, will you pardon me, and if you don't, will you not pardon me?’

The president of Poland added that he was sorry about the collapse of the viewer's company. He besides said that if he applied for a pardon or applied for any individual entitled to it, he would be considered “in an absolutely thorough and in accordance with all the rules.”
— As for the issue of the ministers of Mariusz Kamiński and Minister Wąsik, I decided to make a decision to pardon them, due to the fact that I know their case personally, due to the fact that I was in the government at the time erstwhile these decisions were made and I know what motivation they were guided and what decisions they made," said Andrzej Duda.
Finally, he added that he felt sorry for the situation that the viewer had encountered. However, he asked him not to address him in this way due to the fact that it is "normally unfair."
President Duda pardoned Kamiński and Wąsik in January 2024. PiS politicians were previously convicted by the Warsaw territory Court for failing to fulfil their duties and exceeding their powers. It was about their actions concerning the alleged ground affair.
