The intent of the "lex Romanowski" is to regulate issues relating to the rights and salaries of parliamentarians who have been temporarily arrested or who are absconding from legal responsibility. Duda referred this law to the Constitutional Court in a preventive review procedure, which means that its entry into force is suspended until a constitutional compliance ruling has been given.
