Androids fight for gold: China held the first Humanoid Robot Games

W Beijing hosted the historic, first edition of the planet Humanoid Robot Games (World Humanoid Robot Games), events like the Olympic Games, in which advanced androids fought for medals. The beginning ceremony took place in the National Oval Skating Track, an object known for the 2022 Winter Olympics, which gave the event a symbolic rank.

Global Technology Competition

More than 500 robots competed in the competition, representing 280 teams from 16 countries. Participants included both university and corporate teams (192), which emphasizes the cooperation of the planet of discipline and business in the improvement of robotics. The Games are part of China's wider strategy to become a planet leader in robotic technology, which is part of the “Made in China 2025” initiative.

Discipline for the 21st Century

The robots competed in 26 competitions aimed at investigating their agility, precision and ability to execute complex tasks. Among the disciplines included:
  • Run for 400 meters
  • Soccer
  • Table tennis
  • Climbing stairs
  • Weight lifting
  • Robot Fights
These competitions were intended not only to supply entertainment, but above all to present advancement in the field of bipedal movement, coordination and interaction with the environment.

Participants and representation

The games were attended by teams from 16 countries. Based on the information available, no confirmation was found that Polish teams would participate in the competition.
This event, like the first half marathon for two-legged robots organized in April, shows China's determination to innovate and strengthen its position in the global technological arena.
