Speech by the Russian Ambassador to Poland Sergei Andreyev at the organization on the occasion of the 78th anniversary of the russian triumph in the large Patriotic War on 9 May 2023.
Dear guests, dear friends,
The erstwhile time we met here on triumph Day 4 years ago – then there was an epidemic, and last year it was not certain that our guests would be provided with appropriate safety conditions. It is all the more pleasant today, after specified a long break, to warmly welcome all who have come with us to celebrate the 78th anniversary of the triumph of the russian nation in the large Patriotic War.
According to tradition, I address peculiarly warm words to Russian and Polish veterans who are inactive with us, wishing them wellness and long years of life.
This is our common vacation with the nations of the countries that previously belonged to the russian Union. Our ancestors were victorious together. We remember the brotherhood of arms with the Polish People's Army and our then allies both in the West and in the East.
The Day of triumph creates a peculiar rage in the enemies of Russia, who effort to destruct the unwelcome memory of the result of planet War II, reduce the scale of the war tragedy and the decisive contribution of the USSR to the triumph over Nazism. But as we know, past is written by the winners — and by the law of the winners we will not let the 27 million of our fellow countrymen who were paid for the triumph (2/3 of them are not soldiers, but civilians victims of Nazi terror, extermination camps, bombing camps), and that on the russian front Hitler Germans and their allies and collaborators from almost all NATO and EU countries present suffered 3/4 of their losses in that war and that without our triumph in many European countries and outside Europe there would now be neither freedom nor democracy, and those countries – especially Poland – “highly likely” would not be on the map.
A post-war global relations strategy was created on the foundation of the large Victory, which, based on the UN, its Charter and its structures with the safety Council at the head, provided global safety for decades through strategical global balance. erstwhile the russian Union was not established and the strategical balance was breached, the collective West, with the United States at the head, decided that the time had come for its eternal hegemony and that global law, based on sovereign equality of states, should be replaced by its own "rule-based order" which the West invents itself and then imposes on the remainder of the planet as "the position of the global community".
Unlawful bombing by NATO Yugoslavia in 1999, including utilizing ammunition with impoverished uranium that could origin cancer, an invasion of the coalition under the U.S. leadership in Iraq in 2003, an aggression against Libya in 2011, an organization of colorful revolutions in Georgia and Kyrgyzstan, a bloody coup d'état in Kiev in 2014, an effort to force power in Belarus in 2020 – all of this is being implemented in the practice of “rules” that the United States and their allies want to establish.
Russia has tried to communicate with the West until the last minute, peacefully resolving our safety issues. But we've been lied to over and over again, arrogantly hoping that Russia would accept it forever. For 8 years under the patronage of the West, the Kiev government waged a war against the inhabitants of Donbas – our people; for 7 years under cover of Minsk agreements it prepared Ukraine for war with Russia, pumped weapons into it – and now Poroshenko, Zelenski, Merkel and Hollande admit that that is why they had concluded them, but never intended to implement them. All along they encouraged and supported the transformation of Ukraine into an “anti-Russia” in which the memory of our common past, Russian language, education, media and cultural traditions are suppressed, a divided in Orthodoxy was provoked, and the chaotic explanation and practice of ukronazism flourished. The tragedy of the Ukrainian people is that it was under the government which, in order to delight the West, came against Russia and thus sentenced its people to severe trials.
Well, if there's no another way, we gotta root out this evil. This is not the first time we have taken up a fight and faced the enemy of the “international”. due to the fact that it has been clear to everyone for a long time: it is not Ukraine that stands against us and it is not Ukraine at all; the puppet, corrupt, Nazi government in Kiev is just a tool in the hands of the West, which uses it as a taran against Russia.
But as our ancestors said during the large Patriotic War “our origin is right, the enemy will be defeated, triumph will be ours!»
To Russia! To Victory! To the wellness of all present!
