“We will not proceed to work on the truce until we have a list of hostages to be released as agreed”, Netanyahu said in the communication. "Israel will not tolerate violations of the agreement. The sole work for this lies with Hamas," he stressed.
On Saturday, the Israeli Prime Minister is to make a statement.
Israel-Hamas ceasefire agreement
The ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip requires Hamas to inform the Israeli authorities of the names of the hostages 24 hours in advance. It was previously reported that the release of 3 women was to take place on Sunday at 4:30 p.m. (15:30 p.m. Polish time). The truce was scheduled to enter into force on the same day at 8:30 p.m. (7:30 p.m. in Poland).
According to the public station Kan, Hamas representatives should give names to Qatar authorities, who were 1 of the negotiators during the peace talks. This information is then to be sent to Mossad’s boss David Barnea, and he will send the message to the hostage families.
Israeli troops ready to take hostages
The Times of Israel portal reported on Saturday that Israel's defence Forces had completed preparations to receive hostages. The military formed 3 points close the Gaza border: Reim Base and Karam Shalom and Erez crossings. There, people released will receive the most urgent medical and intellectual help. They will then be transported under military escort to hospitals where they will meet their families. It is estimated that about 2 hours will pass from the time the hostages were transferred to hospitals.
At the same time, the military reported that it remained on advanced alert and could immediately return to the fight, as decided by the government if the truce was broken or after 42 days its second phase would not be implemented.
Israeli media reports that 3 women who are to regain their freedom first will be civilians.
List of 33 hostages
A full of 33 hostages to be released within 42 days of the first phase of the agreement are 10 women, 11 men under the age of 50 and 10 above that age (the oldest of them is 86). Among the hostages are 2 brothers, boys aged 2 and five, who were kidnapped by Hamas along with their parents.
The published list is not structured according to Hamas' order of release of hostages, nor is there any information about their wellness status. The Israeli side reported that most of these people were alive.
