Dear Mr President,

The Polish Association of Defenders of Human Life full supports the position expressed by the Catholic Association of Polish Physicians in a letter dated 16 October 2025 and Joins the request for the president to exercise his right of grace towards Mr. Weronika Krawczyk, convicted of informing online about the gynecologist-aborter she was a patient.

Our association with deep concern accepted the news of a final conviction convicting Ms. Veronica for sharing traumatic experiences associated with doctor's attempts to abort pregnancy due to a misconception, as it later turned out, of Down syndrome in an unborn child. It should be noted here that during the period erstwhile the event took place, Polish right allowed abortion “if Investigations Prenatal or another medical conditions indicate a advanced likelihood of severe and irreversible foetal impairment or incurable life-threatening disease.’ Thanks to advances in medicine and improved wellness care, people with Down syndrome scope advanced age. The quality of their lives has besides improved considerably. Furthermore, on 22 October 2020 the Constitutional Court ruled that abortion is not in line with the Constitution.

Like the signatories of the letter of the Catholic Association of Polish Physicians, we are convinced that Mrs. Veronica's conduct did not bear any signs of defamation, but was simply a coverage of the events in which she participated. It was purely informative, due to concern for another women seeking reliable and ethical medical care. Her intention was aidNot a desire to violate the plaintiff's image. This kind of information should not be punishable.

We believe that the judgement in Mrs Weronika creates a dangerous precedent which can consequence in the alleged ‘freezing effect’, discouraging patients to share their sometimes negative experiences with doctors. Access to reliable opinions on specialists is an essential part of the modern marketplace for medical services and citizens have the right to freely exchange information.

Therefore, the Polish Association of Defenders of Human Life full supports the request of Polish doctors to pardon Mr. Weronika Krawczyk. Mr President's granting the right of grace would not only be an act of mercy to the parent of three. children, but besides an crucial signal of support for the freedom of speech of patients and the protection of human dignity.

With respect,

Wojciech Zięba
President of the Polish Life Defenders Association
