"An act of hostility". Peru breaks ties with Mexico

Peru has broken off diplomatic relations with Mexico, the abroad Ministry in Lima announced. The reason for this decision is that the Mexican embassy granted asylum to the erstwhile Prime Minister of Peru, Betssa Chavez. She is subject to criminal proceedings for alleged complicity in an attempted coup in 2022.
