Amnesty International: evidence number of death sentences in 2024

1,518 – that’s a huge, dramatic number of people sentenced to death worldwide in 2024. This was announced in a fresh study by Amnesty International. While this number is the highest since 2015, it besides highlights that the number of countries executing people is the lowest in history.
