American soldier and the Crown of the Reich

Germany, April 3, 1945, mined excavations in Siegen. Private elder Ivan Babcock of the 165th signal photographic company poses with a replica of the Reich Crown. Until, in August 1946, in Historischer Kunstbunker, a tunnel complex located under a castle in Nuremberg, the first was not found, it was thought that Babcock and his colleagues had hit the Crown.
