US president Donald Trump one more time changes his head about customs duties on imported goods. The latest decision concerns electronic devices, including mobile phones. These duties will not be covered.

According to Friday's information published by the US Customs and Border Protection Service, electronic devices imported into the United States have been exempted from the advanced duties imposed by president Donald Trump's administration, as CNN informs. This includes smartphones, computer monitors and various electronic components.

Trump is changing his head about customs again. This time it's about the phones.

This decision responds to an earlier introduction by the Trump administration of a minimum work rate of 145% on imports from China, which had a crucial impact on US technological giants, including Apple, which manufactures its equipment in China. However, it is about products that came to the States or were taken from warehouses by April 5.

According to Wedbush Securities estimates, as CNN says, about 90% of the production and assembly of iPhones takes place in Chinese factories. Counterpoint Research, on the another hand, predicts that Apple has a supply of equipment for six weeks. After their exhaustion, product prices can increase, which could affect the smartphone marketplace in the United States.

Let us remind that presently the issue of duties imposed on China is causing considerable confusion and uncertainty in the global economy. Meanwhile, president Trump decided last Wednesday that he would choice it up again – but only for China, and would importantly reduce it for another countries.

Trump reduced EU duties

"In view of the deficiency of respect that China has shown towards global markets, I hereby rise the work imposed on China by the United States of America to 125 percent with immediate effect," he wrote on fact Social. In the following days, they jumped to 145 percent.

"I hope that in the close future China will realize that the times of robbing the United States of America and another countries have passed and are unacceptable," Trump pointed out.

At the same time, the policies allowed a 90-day suspension of customs duties for another countries, including the EU. During this period the duties will be 10%.

"Maintaining close transatlantic relations is simply a shared work of Europeans and Americans, regardless of temporary turbulence. So let us make the best of the next 90 days," said Prime Minister Donald Tusk.
