At a time erstwhile the planet becomes increasingly uncertain, divided and dispersed by superficial stimuli, prof. Edward Reid's voice resounds powerfully and clearly.

In his moving entry on the X platform he described Poland not only as a country, but as a moral phenomenon — a conscience of modern civilization.

"In a planet of increasingly uncertain, divided and overwhelmed by shallow distractions, there is something silently different in Poland, something that the planet inactive needs. It is not only the architecture of Krakow, the beauty of the Tatras or the legendary heritage of kings and uprisings. It is something deeper – it is simply a opposition that does not brag, but continues.”

Professor Edward Reid is an American historian specialising in Poland's past during planet War II and in the analysis of media messages. He conducts investigation on the ways of presenting Poland in the western historical communicative and actively tries to correct false or distorted images that frequently dominate public opinion.

“I am Edward Reid and I am a historian specialising in the past of Poland during planet War II and in the media.”

In his eyes Poland is simply a country with a immense burden of history, whose dramas for decades have been ignored or distorted.

"The reasons — political, cultural, xenophobic, and present primarily financial — are all morally wrong. I firmly believe that people should not be manipulated into believing in something so highly false historically and utilized for a wicked purpose.”

Reid recalls that Poland's past is not a series of successes, but a communicative of endurance — and that is what gives it peculiar importance.

“Poland knows the difficulty. This is simply a nation that was erased from the map for 123 years, and yet it never stopped being Polish. People who fought for freedom in the shadows, through poetry, prayer and underground opposition erstwhile their voice was silenced. A country that survived both German panic and russian shackles, and nevertheless retained its soul. Face totalitarianism, genocide, betrayal and occupation, and yet go forward with dignity – it is not only survival. It is moral strength.”

The inspiration for gathering Poland came unexpectedly — from a book found in childhood.

"As an American, I have always been fascinated by the past of Poland, a country betrayed by the Allies. I first met her as a kid erstwhile I found Arthur Bliss Lane's book “I Saw Poland Betrayed”. I was shocked that a country as noble as the U.S. could do something like this to a country that fought so fiercely with the Nazis. I felt ashamed and personally affected. I wanted to fix it.”

This turned into a decade of investigation and a year spent in Poland as a teacher. To this day, Reid has been in contact with his students, and his relation with the country deepened even more after marrying Polka.

“I know this not from books, but from life. (...) I married a strong Polish female born in the times of communism – individual who knows what it means to endure and overcome adversity with dignity.”

He draws attention to serious gaps in the Western sense of the Holocaust — especially in the context of the suffering of non-Jewish victims, including millions of Poles.

“Holocaust touched me deeply, but I was always frustrated by the communicative in the United States, which actually ignores the suffering of non-Jews. It seemed almost offensive that specified a tragic event omitted 5 million victims – including 3 million Poles. I think no 1 has a monopoly on suffering.”

For Reid, the mission to tell the actual past of Poland is an work resulting from technological integrity.

"For the sake of posterity and historical accuracy, I believe that the fact about Poland should be told. With all her faults – even if it is politically incorrect – but it is true. Isn't that what historians are for?”

At present Reid creates educational films about Poland and its history, besides publishing video footage revealing little known facts from the past of the country. All to make the planet hear these stories.

"It is my intention as an American who profoundly loves Poland and Poles – to talk the fact and defend Poland simply through facts, no substance how they affect ‘feelings’, due to the fact that we have relied on opinions for besides long. Opinions poisoned a large communicative about Polish history.”

Returning to the X entry, Reid sees something in Poland that the modern planet is dramatically lacking — rooted strength.

"This immunity is not bitter. She's warm, stable, and proud. He lives in his grandma mixing soup according to a recipe passed through generations. (...) He lives in the belief that no substance how dark the night is, Poland wakes up again – singing hymns, teaching children and paying tribute to his dead.”

"In a planet that besides frequently chooses comfort alternatively of rules, forgetting alternatively of memory and divisions alternatively of tradition, Poland remains a rebellious exception. He says, "We don't forget. We're on. We do not abandon our roots due to the fact that they make us stand still.”

“Therefore, the planet inactive needs Poland – not only as a country, but as a conscience. due to the fact that Poland not only remembers history. She lives it. And by doing so, he quietly teaches us all how to be strong without hatred, faithful without fanaticism and arrogant without arrogance.”
