Despite the dominance of U.S.-Israeli forces in the air, this does not mean that Iranian air defenses have ceased to be any threat. Dispersed and weakened, but hidden in underground shelters and based on passive (thermal) and short-range portable shoulder systems, it is inactive capable of biting counterattacks and air ambushes, which, fortunately for the Allies, have not brought – so far – irreversible losses among air personnel, although there have been respective dangerous attacks. Below we discuss the circumstances of the most serious ones.
