"Always Ready, Always Close". On 25 October this year in Zagórz the last oath of the soldiers of the 20th Przemysl Territorial Defence Brigade was held this year.

The words of the military oath's rota were spoken by nearly 50 volunteers from the districts of the Permanent territory of work of the Przemysl Brigade. recently sworn soldiers have just completed basic training, have become acquainted with elements of military craft, including shooting, tactics, rules of conduct in the field of combat, first aid, communication or topography.

Speaking to the soldiers gathered in the square, commander of 20th Przemysl Territorial Defence Brigade Colonel Daniel BŁOTKO congratulated recently sworn soldiers on their decision to join the ranks of Territorial Defence. In his speech, he pointed out: “Today’s celebration is not only a celebration of a soldier but besides a tribute to all those before us who wore a uniform with pride and honor. General Władysław Anders said, “There is no greater love than that erstwhile individual gives his life for his friends.” In the military, this love has a dimension of the brotherhood of arms - readiness to stand side by side with another man, regardless of circumstances. Let each “swear” mean for you the readiness to sacrifice, but besides the pride of being part of the Polish Army - heirs of traditions that were born under Grunwald, in uprisings, in Legions, under Monte Cassino, in Iraq or Afghanistan.

The WOT as the only kind of armed force offers the chance to conveniently reconcile science, work and household responsibilities with the service to the Homeland and local community. OT soldiers can learn, work, or survey and at the same time carry out military service, thus gaining fresh experiences.

His letter to Colonel Daniel Błotko the Commander of the 20th Przemysl Territorial Defence Brigade besides directed the Podkarpackie Voivodeship to Mrs Teresa Kubas-Hul, stating:

‘... Military oath is not only a formal act, it is simply a profoundly symbolic motion of loyalty, honor and devotion to Poland. Each soldier, speaking the words of an oath, becomes part of a large community of brave, faithful and liable people who in regular service carry the thought of security, solidarity and patriotism...”.

Newly sworn soldiers will now start a three-year training cycle in 1 of the 20 PBOT divisions located in Przemyśl, Jarosław and Sanoku. Training will be carried out in rotational form on weekends, at least 2 days a period and 2 weeks integrated training, erstwhile a year. Soldiers can besides apply for professional military service after gathering certain criteria.

Residents of Przemysl Land who want to gain military training and have never been in the military can effort their forces during basic training. Applications for appointment to the WOT shall be submitted to the Military Recruitment Centre or via the e-PUAP portal appropriate to its place of residence.
