It was July 356 BC. The Mediterranean world, tired of the constant wars of the Greek city-states, continued in an highly fragile and uneasy equilibrium. It was then, in the palace of the Macedonian king Philip II, amid the smoke of incense and the whispers of priestesses, that a boy was born, who was named Alexander.
