ABW action – student planned to assassinate the Christmas fair

ABW detained 19-year-old KUL student Matthew W., suspected of preparing a terrorist attack. According to the National Prosecutor's Office, the man was scheduled to attack with explosives at 1 of the Christmas fairs.

A spokesperson for the peculiar services coordinator Jacek Dobrzyński said that the fishy is simply a Pole, a student from central Poland, and in the case "there is no Russian trace". According to investigators, the intent of his actions was to intimidate a large number of people and support the alleged muslim State.

The Prosecutor's Office accuses Mateusz W. of making extended preparations for the assassination, including gaining cognition of explosives, seeking contacts to enable them to be acquired and attempting to cooperate with a terrorist organization. During searches in Lublin and Łódź voivodships, data carriers and objects related to Islam were secured.

The court, at the request of the D.A., decided to have 3 months' temporary detention. The case is handled by the NSA under the supervision of the National Prosecutor's Office, and investigators stress that it is of a developmental nature.
