TASHKENT– AirAsia X (D7), the World’s Best Low-Cost Airline, will officially launch direct flights between Tashkent (TAS) and Kuala Lumpur (KUL), beginning 15 October 2025. The service will operate three times weekly, connecting Uzbekistan’s capital with Malaysia’s major international hub.
The airline’s Kuala Lumpur hub, Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KUL), will enable travellers from Tashkent to access over 130 destinations via AirAsia X’s (D7) Fly-Thru network. Tashkent International Airport (TAS) will now become a gateway to Southeast Asia, Australia, and beyond for Uzbek passengers.

AirAsia X Tashkent Flights
AirAsia X’s new route between Tashkent and Kuala Lumpur represents a strategic move to tap into growing travel demand from emerging Central Asian markets.
- Flights will operate every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, with flight D7123 departing Tashkent at 19:30 and arriving in Kuala Lumpur at 06:10+1.
- The return service, flight D7122, will depart Kuala Lumpur at 13:25 and arrive in Tashkent at 18:15.
This new direct connection is expected to boost two-way travel, giving tourists and business travellers from Malaysia, China, Indonesia, and Singapore easier access to Uzbekistan’s historical and cultural sites. Conversely, it also offers Uzbeks expanded travel opportunities across Asia-Pacific.
The launch aligns with AirAsia X’s mission to provide affordable, medium-haul air travel. The airline’s successful entry into Almaty has encouraged further expansion in the region, reinforcing confidence in Central Asian markets.
Benyamin Ismail, CEO of AirAsia X, stated that forward bookings for the Tashkent route are already showing strong demand. He emphasized the route’s potential to support broader initiatives, including Visit Malaysia Year 2026 and Uzbekistan’s ambitious goal of welcoming 15.8 million foreign visitors in 2025.

Enhanced Connectivity and Economic Impact
Dr. Mukhtaramin Bekzod, Chairman of AA Aviation Management Group, emphasized that the new service would play a critical role in facilitating outbound and inbound travel.
The Fly-Thru connectivity through KUL will give Uzbek travellers seamless access to cities in Australia, Southeast Asia, East Asia, and more.
The new route also reflects the deepening bilateral relationship between Uzbekistan and Malaysia across sectors such as trade, education, Islamic tourism, and cultural exchange. This service is set to contribute meaningfully to Uzbekistan’s tourism, business travel, and economic development.

To celebrate the launch, promotional one-way fares from Tashkent to Kuala Lumpur are available starting at UZS 2,719,000 (USD 199) all-in.
