Adam Bodnar resumed proceedings against the 2017 March of independency on "propagation of the totalitarian regime". Due to the deficiency of detection of the perpetrators, the prosecution has dropped the investigation. Now, 7 years later, after appointing Bodnar as Minister of Justice, the proceedings resumed. The association authorities issued a public message in connection with these accusations.
Adam Bodnar resumed his accusation against the March of independency of November 14, 2017, erstwhile he served as Ombudsman. The association, defending the good name of its organization, issued a statement, which we give the full content below.
Last week, Adam Bodnar, Minister of Justice and at the same time lawyer General, announced that he was reopening proceedings regarding the 2017 independency March.
The prosecution investigated whether during the 2017 independency March there was a promotion by the organizer and participants of the totalitarian assembly. As the perpetrators of the alleged promotion of specified a strategy – and more importantly, the prosecution has come to the conclusion that the acts do not contain the signs of the crime, the proceedings were dismissed on 20 December 2019.
However, the most absurd thing about this case is that this proceeding was initiated due to a announcement made on 14 November 2017 by... Adam Bodnar, the then Ombudsman. Adam Bodnar, being an RPO, then besides complained about the prosecution's decision to discontinue proceedings in 2019. present the politicized prosecution under the force of the same Adam Bodnar, already acting as the Minister of Justice and lawyer General, returns to the case from 7 years ago and intends to carry out actions against the March of Independence, its organizer – the Association of “March of Independence” – and participants, Poles who, on 11 November in Warsaw, show their patriotism and attachment to the thought of independent and sovereign Homeland. In this context, the past presented in the authoritative Communication of the Public Prosecutor's Office of 14 May 2024 on the alleged review of proceedings, the analysis of cases, the investigation carried out, appears to be a tragedy.
In his pursuit of imaginary Nazism and incitement to cultural hatred Adam Bodnar even branded the slogan “Clean Blood, A Sound Mind”, which is simply a postulate of groups rejecting alcohol or drugs. This example shows the absurdity of the current situation and the political confusion of the then Ombudsman, presently serving as Minister of Justice and lawyer General in the government of Donald Tusk.
Adam Bodnar's decision is scandalous and motivated by his reluctance to show Polishness and patriotism, so alien to the present liberal-left government. Let us remind that it was during Donald Tusk's first premiere that the biggest provocations and attacks on participants of the independency March occurred. It was then against the Poles who were united around the Polish independency Day, alleged Typhoons, colloquially called police showers, or vehicles with LRAD systems, utilized to drive the crowd sound. many provocations were committed to discrediting the independency March in the eyes of the public. Participants of the independency March were gassed and battered, as well as shot with smooth-bore weapons. The current policy of the Ministry of Justice confirms to us that these times will come back this year, and the government and the authorities of Warsaw will do everything possible to prevent Poles from celebrating the anniversary of independency by our country.
It should be full confirmed that the reopening of the procedure is unfounded. Both the organizer of the independency March – The Association “March of Independence” – as well as its participants, is alien to the concepts of totalitarian system. The March of independency dates back to the Polish national movement, so the political camp, which led to Poland regaining independency in 1918, built the Democratic and Republican II Republic of Poland (e.g. organized the Sejm and Senate, worked on the March Constitution and carried out currency reform), and during planet War II as the first Polish political environment entered the conspiracy against the Nazi German and russian Reich. It was Polish nationalists, politicians and activists of the National organization that co-founded Polish underground and exile authorities, and the national underground soldiers from the National Military Organization were the backbone of the National Army after 1942. For their unbreakable anti-German and anti-Soviet attitudes, Polish nationalists were with all their power fought by both totalitarianisms, in the case of Russian totalitarianism besides after the end of planet War II in 1945.
Today liberal-left authorities effort to lie past and present the Polish national movement, the National Democracy camp, as fascist or Nazi movement. specified accusations find no basis in reality, and a reliable political analysis of the national camp program shows that its ideological foundations and political postulates are different from totalitarian Fascism and Nazism programs. Nor should we forget pre-war publicist national activists, who themselves cut off from fascism and Nazism as currents alien to them ideologically. Outstanding representatives of the national camp suffered death at the hands of German and russian torturers, sharing the destiny of many another victims of Palmir, Auschwitz or Katyń. It is worth recalling in the present situation that any nationalists – martyrs of planet War II – have been declared blessed by the Catholic Church, and among the Righteous among the planet Nations there are besides activists of the national camp.
Accusing Polish nationalists of fascist or Nazi sympathy is nothing fresh – it was initiated by communist propaganda, who utilized this story to fight the armed underground after planet War II. On specified charges there were political trials and judicial murders on Polish patriots, whose “guilty” was attachment to God, Honor and Homeland.
Today, Adam Bodnar, who resumes proceedings against the March of Independence, seems to be reaching for communist propaganda. This action raises our deep opposition.
As the “March of Independence” Association, we will do our best to defend the good name of the independency March and Polish patriots who participate in it annually.
Since Minister Adam Bodnar decided to resume proceedings 7 years ago, to which he had previously contributed and whose resignation he had complained, he will surely make all effort to hit the independency March as hard as possible. possibly he will try, on absurd charges, to lead to the illegalisation of the March or the “March of Independence” Association itself, as politicians of the current ruling coalition have repeatedly advocated.
Regardless of the action taken by the authorities, The independency March – as the national welfare of all Poles – will last and pass through the streets of Warsaw next November 11. We call on all supporters of the March of independency to express their opposition to the actions of Minister Adam Bodnar. We proceed to recruit the independency March defender to guarantee the safe course of the March, regardless of the provocations we may experience. We besides encourage the financial support of the “March of Independence” Association at this hard moment, requiring active defence against systemic power actions aimed at destroying the independency March. Above all, however, we invitation you to many exhibitions on 11 November 2024 in Warsaw! The independency March will pass for the 15th time through the streets of the Polish capital. It's our shared responsibility.

As an editorial, we remind you that it is not the only case erstwhile liberal powers attack the organization of the March of Independence. On 31 January 2024, the Provincial of Mazowiecki refused to grant cyclicality to the March, which had this position continuously since 2017.
Even before that, in 2020, the president of Warsaw Rafał Trzaskowski refused to accept the organization of the March, explaining his decision with "pandemic restrictions". At the same time, however, he allowed a gathering of the left-wing Women's Strike.
