Action against hunters

Attacking Urszula Pasławska and calling the scandal a break in the discussions of the Committee on the Environment is proof that the function of the president of the council exceeded Marcin Możdjonek.

Another discussion on the amendment of hunting law was to take place on Tuesday at the Committee on the Environment. The union authorities appeared in full lineup, and on the another side were ready opponents of the hunt.

Ms Paulina Hennig-Kloska, who first said that she had utilized control tools and would clean up the doubles in the posts of spokespersons and hunting judges and then added that according to the ministry, a fewer changes should be made so that the ministry could be controlled and supervised...

Learning from History

The old saying that: “a Pole stupid before and after harm” fits perfectly with the past of novelizing hunting law. We all remember how the Constitutional Court ruled that the landowner has the right to exclude it from the hunting circuit. It was this conviction that forced the amendment of the Hunting Act. In 2015, Undersecretary and Chief Conservation Officer Piotr Otawski, assisted by NGOs, began blocking the parliamentary draft amendment. He requested that the work be suspended pending the improvement of a government project...

Our opponents wanted to make usage of the beginning of the bill and introduce a ban on collective hunting, a ban on hunting at night, a ban on breeding animals and a ban on hunting in Natura 2000 areas!

The huntsman of hunting Piotr Otawski did not go so far in his demands, but he said he wanted to approve the Statute of PZL that hunters were to notify landowners about individual hunting, that a ban should be introduced on the usage of targeting telescopes, which have a magnification of over 18 times.

The task went to waste.

According to the then authorities of the union, specified proposals of the ministry were aimed solely at extending the legislative process, and elections were coming, so it was certain that the government's task would not be re-processed and anti-manufacturing organizations would be able to enforce decisions by the Provincial Administrative Courts about the limits of hunting circuits – which followed!

Among the members of the Committee on the Environment was the will to continue. The vast majority voted on a task that fulfilled the Constitutional Court's ruling, but the talker of the Sejm, Margaret Kidawa-Błońska, did not let the bill to be voted on.

The task went to waste. prof. Jan Szyszko tried to reprocess it in his next parliamentary term, but Jarosław Kaczyński threw it out of the government and we have the law that was passed in 2018!

Adjournment of the sitting

In retrospect, anyone can say that the union authorities made a mistake at the time. Was it essential to search agreement with Piotr Otawski? In my opinion, this was not possible due to the fact that the ministry wanted to prepare its draft, which meant postponement of the debate for long months.

Today, we should learn from that communicative and search the broadest possible agreement. Madam president of the Committee on the Environment Urszula Pasławska represents precisely this position and erstwhile the Minister of the Environment submits proposals – he does not underestimate his coalition colleague – he shows good will and gives time for the MEPs from Poland 2050 to prepare and submit proposals that the Minister referred to!

In this context, the speech by Marcin Możdjonk criticizing our top ally in the parliament, Urszula Pasławska, whose National gathering of Delegates awarded the honorary title of the Honorary associate of PZL – is an action to the detriment of hunters and the Polish Hunting Union. The president of the Council clearly has no thought about building a parliamentary coalition!

Irresponsibility

We have known each another for many years – Marcin Możdzynek has not only supported Hubertus Spalski, but besides the activities of the Foundation for the Protection of the Deaf – so I am all the more sorry to compose present that the honorary function of president of the General Council of the Hunting Council is beyond it.

With full premeditation, I waited – 2 days – hoping individual would talk and say publicly...

“Our opponents are stronger, have more sabers and support their mainstream media to win, we must support politicians who represent our interests alternatively than publically dig them.”

The interruption requested by Mrs Urszula Pasławska is not a scandal, but a chance to make a task for which all political groups will vote, which was possibly just lost by Marcin Możdzyk with his irresponsible and unthinkable behaviour!
