Graduates in the Army. Recruitment continues

As early as June, young people who complete their education in schools and classes with military profile (in alleged military preparation units) can join voluntary essential military service. Basic training for them will be shortened and will take 12 days, not 27 days. After that, the recruits will take an oath and will be able to enter 11 months of specialist training.

Basic training voluntary essential military service in the abbreviated dimension for postgraduate schools with military profile is governed by the Homeland Defence Act. It can be utilized by graduates of secondary schools implementing state defence education programmes, supervised by the Minister of National Defence, as well as graduates military preparation units, i.e. classes in advanced schools and techniques in which students combine general education with military classes.

In accordance with Decision No 1833/MON, the Minister of Defence of the National Shortened DZSW will last from 9 to 20 June. Candidates must meet the general conditions essential to be appointed to military service, and thus be of age, unpunished, to have Polish citizenship, to have a judgement of deficiency of contraindications to military service. “Completing basic training means preferential conditions for starting a professional career,” says Captain Michał Gelej, press spokesperson Central Military Recruitment Center. He adds that volunteers will receive additional points as part of recruitment to military colleges, as well as precedence in recruitment for professional military service or in employment in public administration offices.

– The another benefits are standard for those engaged in military service: free accommodation, board, medical care, insurance and relief for the Polish Railway Station, says Captain Gełej. As he adds, all volunteers who join the service will receive a gross wage of PLN 6500 per period (in this case, corresponding to the number of training days).

During training volunteers are waiting 10 hours of drill, military regulations and tactics classes and shooting training. At the end, they will enter the tactical loop, i.e. the examination of basic skills and training of soldiers in the field of combat medicine, shooting skills, utilizing maps and compasses and physical fitness. After completing the abbreviated basic training, those willing to proceed their service may enter the 11-month specialist training.

How and where to report? Any postgraduate of the school, military class or RDP who wants to join the abbreviated military service, may submit an application at any military recruitment or accession centre through the portal become a benzolnierz.pl. Those willing to service may study to the last days before the start of the turnus, but in advance to complete the essential formalities.

The volunteer shall submit the applicable papers required in the recruitment process at the military recruitment centre. The candidate will then be directed to investigation to find whether he is physically and mentally capable of military service. The end of the proceedings is to give a decision on the ability to service and to receive an administrative decision to mention to military training.

Last year, 463 volunteers joined the shortened voluntary primary military service.
