The shortened firearm barrel from 16 inches to 14.5 inches and the redesigned lock chamber – Radom weapon mill introduced further improvements to MSBS Grot. The changes were developed on the basis of observations by users of erstwhile versions of rifles. The latest model – A3 – is in the test phase, but Archer declares that after the approval of the military he will start production immediately.

Modular tiny Arms strategy (MSBS) The grotto is an excellent example of how fruitful the close cooperation of the military equipment maker with its end user can be. Grots were introduced into service in 2017 in territorial defence troops. Since then, the Radom weapon Factory, which is the maker of the Grots, has developed – based on observations by soldiers – a number of amendments and improvements. As a result, further versions of this weapon were introduced – marked as A1 and A2 (the first had the designation A0).

Seweryn Figurski, president of Łusznik, admits that the MSBS improvement work was not completed on the A2 model and the company prepared, again based on user suggestions, another package of modifications – marked as A3.

Some of the changes are cosmetic, but any can be called essential. These include the proposal to shorten the firearm barrel from 16 inches to 14.5 inches and to redesign the lock chamber.

In the A3 version, the erstwhile changes will besides include: gas strategy and outlet device (gas piston and pusher are connected into 1 element), bed and rail (the bed is additionally stabilized), slide, tensioner and lock (including the first simplified insert), trigger chamber and mechanics (the magazine socket and trigger chamber have been changed, so the shooter can usage Magpul Gen magazines. 3.

According to the representatives of the Weapons Factory, a number of changes made in the fresh variant of the Grota allowed to “restrict” the weapons by about 300 g, which may seem tiny to the outside individual “profit”, but for its user it can be of large importance.

The latest generation of Grot can be seen at this year's fair in Kielce. During the XXXIII MSPO an annex to 2024 contract for carbines. The annex allows to increase the number of ordered pieces by 23 thousand. Are they already A3 models? “As shortly as the “type” studies are completed and the military accepts the prepared package of structural changes, we will launch the production of carbines in this configuration and deliveries under current contracts”, said Seweryn Figurski, president of “Łusznik”.
