The 14th Western Pomeranian Territorial Defence Brigade has just adopted fresh soldiers who have begun basic training. Most of them will service in the 143rd Light Infantry Battalion located in Szczecin and Wałcz. Its specificity will be to operate in the city, on water and defend critical infrastructure. The first oath of soldiers of the fresh battalion - already on 30 November on Łashtowni.
The alleged "sixteen", or basic training of fresh soldiers, 14 ZBOT began this weekend. 37 fresh soldiers first wore uniforms, then began their heavy, demanding training. The vast majority of them will go to the emerging fresh battalion of the West Pomeranian Territories with the number 143 in Szczecin and Walcz. This is the 3rd battalion in structures of 14 ZBOT, the 2 existing ones are located in Choszczno and Trzebiatów. So far, Szczecin has housed command and staff of 14 ZBOT and supporting companies of soldiers. “Our 143rd Light Infantry Battalion will be training and preparing soldiers for specialised tasks,” announced Colonel Piotr Sulwiński, commander of the 14th Western Pomeranian Territorial Defence Brigade. - Its area of work will be the city of Szczecin, the police district, Gryfiński, Gryborski and the city and territory of Wałcz. According to the specificity of the region and the environment, companies will be profiled to operate in the city and on the water. The main effort will be to prepare sub-divisions to accomplish critical infrastructure safety and defence capabilities as well as anti-crisis actions in the indicated area - said Colonel Sulwiński.
Starting training in soldiers is not all who will form the seeds of a fresh battalion. Apart from them, the command and staff of professional soldiers, to Szczecin and Wałcza will decision any soldiers - volunteers who have served in battalion structures in Choszno and Trzebiatów. The battalion will be stationed in Szczecin - Podyuchach, in the separated barracks building 14 ZBOT and renovated barracks complex buildings in Walcz. In Szczecin and Wałcz they will besides undergo their rotation training, which takes place erstwhile a month, on the weekend. The nearest and first in December of this year.
First, however, fresh soldiers must complete 16-day primary training. In Trzebiatów, where it takes place, they already received weapons this weekend - MSBS Grot rifles, with which they will not part for the next 2 weeks. Instructors will train them from the basics of military tactics, providing pre-medical assistance and medical fields of combat, shooting and handling weapons, field studies. “It is better than expected for now, there are quite a few women here and we support each other, and my sister-in-law besides joined me” she tells about her first impressions from the training of the sword Joanna Ćwik, who comes from a tiny village close Goleniów. She is 1 of the first soldiers to service in the fresh battalion in Szczecin. - I'm glad he's up due to the fact that I'll be close to home training," the private adds. Soldiers will besides be trained in the field of the military drill to prepare to make a solemn military oath. This event is scheduled for 30 November in Szczecin, Łastowni. Command 14 of the West Pomeranian Territorial Defence Brigade encourages young adult people to join the ranks of the fresh battalion. To facilitate this, in December and January 2025 there will be as many as 3 vocations at the “Ferie of the WOT”, basic training aimed primarily at adult students, students or teachers. The appointments will take place in Szczecin on 14 December and on 18 and 31 January. "Ferie with WOT" will start on 31 January and will proceed all winter holidays in the Zachodniopomorskie Voivodeship.
