A period before the elections, AfD has the highest support in a year

Around six weeks before the Bundestag elections, despite slight losses, the Christian Democrats (CDU/CSU) are leading with 31 percent. They are followed by the right-wing populist AfD (20 percent) and the social democratic SPD (15 percent), which have recorded a slight increase in support, according to the latest poll.
