A large drop in Orlen's net profit. The reason is billion-dollar write-offs

The Orlen Group had a net profit of PLN 1.38 billion in 2024, compared to PLN 20.97 billion a year earlier. It explains that this is the consequence of impairment write-offs worth as much as PLN 13.5 billion. They included, among others, the unsuccessful - in the opinion of the current management - Olefiny petrochemical project.
